The Port Macquarie Chamber of Commerce proudly launched the first Greater Port Macquarie Business Awards in 2007, as a way of formally acknowledging the growth and success of businesses in the Greater Port Macquarie region.
Each year local business and industry organisations are encouraged to nominate and enter across a range of categories and share their success stories; their achievements, their innovations and the people who support them. Entry in every category is free. Now in its 15th year the Greater Port Macquarie Business Awards annually celebrate our region’s business success, with a range of independently judged and popularly voted categories, some of which align directly with entry into the Business NSW (formerly NSW Business Chamber) Regional and State Awards. The Awards will be launched in February and nominations, voting and judging will culminate in the award presentations at the spectacular Gala Dinner event on Saturday, 20 May 2023.
The 2023 Coastline Credit Union Greater Port Macquarie Business Awards will have 35 categories this year. Winners across four consecutive years (in any category) or five years, during the lifetime of the Awards, are inducted into the Hall of Fame.
The Excellence in Business entries are judged by at least two independent judges, chosen by Business NSW from across all our Regions, and reviewed by the local Business NSW Regional Manager to ensure consistency. In 2023, for the fifth year (as no Awards were held in 2020) Business of the Year will be awarded to one of the winners of the Excellence categories. The winner of this category is determined by each winner’s overall score and the organisation’s contribution to the local economy – this is why the financial questions are asked in the entry.
Business plays a very important role in our local community and we’d love you to join us in showing our appreciation and gratitude to those that do the ‘daily grind’, from across a diverse range of businesses and industries, within our region. Any business, company and organisation (private or public) that conducts business in the Hastings region, has premises or employs locally are eligible to enter. The Awards also offer the chance to put your best foot forward in showcasing your business and your brand and it’s open to all ticket holders, so bring your team!
The annual Awards Gala Dinner attracts over 550 guests each year and has grown to become Port Macquarie’s premier social event with a reputation for glamour and glitz. Organza and bow ties sit comfortably alongside the business banter, as the best and brightest from across the local business community celebrate in style.
