Leaders and members of the local business community gathered on Tuesday, 10th December to raise funds for local Rural Fire Services, share stories and celebrate the end of another year together.

Representatives from the Business Port Macquarie, Hastings Business Women’s Network, Micro Business Forum, NSW Business Chamber, Greater Port Macquarie Tourism Association, Camden Haven Chamber of Commerce and Wauchope Chamber of Commerce joined forces to host the 2019 Combined Networks Christmas Party and share some Christmas cheer with their members.

Over 140 guests attended the glittering event, held at the Mercure Centro, with all profits going towards supporting local Rural Fire Service crews.

Stuart Robb, RFS Public Liaison Officer, was on hand to receive the generous donation and accept the heartfelt thanks and applause for the work recently done by local crews in saving the community.

“Port Macquarie and the surrounding districts have been enduring smoke and fires since July. We are grateful to the business community for their support and guarantee the funds raised at this event will be of great assistance over the upcoming summer season,” Mr Robb said.

In total the event raised $1,622.50 and included cash donations from guests, all profits from the Combined Network’s event and a very generous $295 cheque donation from the Hastings Business Women’s Network.

Event sponsor, Optus, also contributed to the festivities by offering each guest a gift bag of goodies to take home. They also took the opportunity to introduce their newest partnership with Upbound, a local business communications provider exclusively selling Optus products and services and offering face to face appointments across the Mid North Coast.

Business Port Macquarie Executive Officer, Mark Wilson said, “It was wonderful to see so many people from across all local business networks, come together and share in the spirit of the season. It’s been a busy year and I think everyone enjoy taking some time out to reconnect and reflect on the last twelve months.”
