To enter the 2021 ‘Light Up the Hastings’ Christmas competition simply dress your shop-front, home or office for the festive season and post your photos to your business’s Facebook page, using the #shoplocalHastings hashtag.

The competition closes on Wednesday, 15 December 2021, with the successful entrant being awarded the coveted ‘Spirit of Christmas’ shield. Past recipients include Sunset Gallery and Framing, Hastings Co-op Department Store, Page Conveyancing, Belle Property & HEM Property.

Our judges will be looking for:

• Christmas Spirit – go all out for the festive season! Decorate your place to share what Christmas means to you and don’t forget the extra sparkle.
• Effort – It doesn’t matter how expensive or expansive your decorations are; if we can see that you have put in an amazing effort to attract attention, you’ll earn extra brownie points.
• Shares and Likes – as all entries are via social media, we want to see as many Facebook ‘shares’ and ‘likes’ you can muster.  Get your fans to jump in and do their bit too.
• Fun, generosity and community – let’s share the love! Posts that encourage true Christmas Spirit will be put on the ‘nice’ list.
