Spring is known as the season of new beginnings and at Business Port Macquarie we are looking at many fresh and new opportunities to bring your way.
Starting with our networking evening on Tuesday, 27 September where we will have Trevor Groeneveld from Thrumster Business Park discussing the new and exciting precinct coming to Port Macquarie. The precinct will include a medical precinct, light industry including a bakery and microbrewery, as well as heavier industry.
Also incorporated in this area is an incredible green space. With many businesses owned by mum and dad operators, I know first-hand how hard it can be when you have kids home in the school holidays and keep them busy.
This space lends itself to an area where kids can play and ride bikes but also staff can sit in a lovely area to have lunch. Something that has been missing from past industrial/business areas and I think has been a fantastic forward-thinking idea to incorporate. Really looking forward to hearing more about this space and what else is in store.
This time of year, we also start planning for Christmas and New Year. I can’t update you on festivities for Christmas as yet as we are still in consultation with the annual event, hopefully with a resolution soon.
In regard to New Year’s Eve, I am excited to let you know that Business Port Macquarie has been able to secure the services of All Occasion Pyrotechnics to ensure that this year we as a community can bring in the New Year with a bang!
Through the generous sponsorship of one Port Macquarie Business (to be announced very soon) we have locked in the midnight fireworks and we are currently working with a number of other businesses to ensure that we can also deliver a 9pm family fireworks.
If you would like to know how your business can be involved with this fantastic community event please call either Katherine on 0422 562 300 or myself on 0414 772 771.
We are excited to hear that the contract for Ocean Drive has been awarded to Ditchfield Contracting for the $111 million duplication with works due to start this half of the year. This is a joint venture between the State government and Port Macquarie-Hastings Council.
If your business has any questions or issues you would like us to speak with Federal, State or Council representatives on, please call our office so we can ensure that we are advocating on your behalf.
