Business Port Macquarie has launched the Holiday Coast Credit Union 2019 Business Awards. About 70 business leaders attended the event at Panthers Port Macquarie on Wednesday, May 1. Chamber president Michael Mowle said the awards resonate within the wider Port Macquarie-Hastings community.
“The community recognises the finalists and winners of these awards as businesses that pay attention to maintaining a high standard of service,” he said. “The recognition includes making a valuable contribution to the Australian economy, and the local economy, and who provide incredible value to our society. However, there is an elite group of recipients who have been acknowledged by the Chamber for their consistency and dedication to our community through sustained efforts. This year, we welcome the addition of Charles Sturt University, as an inductee into the Hall of Fame.”
CSU Executive Dean, Faculty of Business, Justice & Behavioural Sciences, Tracey Green, said it was amazing to know that the university was held in such high esteem within the community. “Charles Sturt University has been incredibly lucky to be here in Port Macquarie amongst such a great group of people,” she told the crowd at the launch. “Charles Sturt University has been incredibly lucky to be here in Port Macquarie amongst such a great group of people. You have supported us since we came to town. When we were starting off in our little makeshift premises and classrooms, your support was incredible. CSU is now turning its attention to phase 2 of our growth, but our growth is down to the contributions of the business or wider community. You have been behind us every step of the way.” she said.
She said the Business Awards absolutely resonate with CSU and encouraged every business to take their staff to the annual dinner and presentation.”Give them a pat on the back,” she said. “We will be there on the night.”
