The year has started with a bang with January, despite holidays, being a very busy month.
At Business Port Macquarie we hit the ground running getting everything in place for the launch of the 2023 Coastline Credit Union Greater Port Macquarie Business Awards on the 7th February.
Make sure that you take the opportunity to enter the awards to help promote your business.
Our theme this year is “Heart of The Hastings”.
Entries are open from the 8th February and close on the 28th March.
The Gala Dinner will be held Saturday, 20th May so watch out for your tickets as it promises to be a fantastic night with fabulous entertainment where we can applaud the achievements of local businesses.
Our January Network event was very well attended with many new businesses to the area joining us for a great informal night of having a chat and getting to know each other.
We have many great events coming up including Cyber Security, Luminosity 2023 launch, Budgeting for Financial Year to name a few.
We have had such great feedback from our November Business Accelerator Program that, as a follow on, we will be holding an Accelerator Workshop Working Lunch every two months facilitated by our expert presenters.
The first one will kick off in March with Stacey Morgan who presented on “How to run a Business and have a Life”.
Keep an eye out for this one or go to our website to register. All welcome.
Are you up to date on what is happening with HR & Industrial Relation Laws? Local business HR Culture are running a workshop 8th February with presenter Andrew Bland from Blands Law on all the changes and updates to IR Law that you need to know.
Specifically the Respect@Work and Secure Jobs Bill.

We are pleased to hear the news that tenders for the works on the Breakwall have been sent out by TNSW.
The tenders close as we go to print with the successful company to be announced shortly after and work to begin on the Breakwall in May after Iron Man has been completed.
The repairs may cause some disruption during the work however the community will benefit long term with a secure piece of infrastructure and an upgraded asset with wider paths, seating, lighting and many more trees and groundcover plants.
It will also allow increased access for those with wheelchairs to be able to enjoy a trip along the Breakwall.
If you have been down there over this summer break it has been fantastic to see so many people in town and utilising this beautiful area.
