Aunty Lorraine began a notable 21-year career in the Australian Army in 1986, becoming a pioneer for Indigenous and non-Indigenous female servicewomen. She served in various operations, including peacekeeping and war efforts. In 2003, she became the first Aboriginal female promoted to Warrant Officer. Her career culminated in 2006 as the Communications Manager for the Australian Army Special Forces in Afghanistan before retiring in 2007. Read more...
