Tuesday 16th September marked an exciting milestone for Business Port Macquarie, with the launch of our very first Leaders Round Table lunch, proudly hosted by Telstra.
Created exclusively for our top-tier members, the Leaders Round Table is designed to bring together some of our region’s most influential business leaders to share insights, identify challenges, and shape opportunities. The goal is simple yet powerful - to foster collaboration that drives positive change and strengthens our local business community.
Hearing from Telstra’s National Leadership
The event presented a unique opportunity for local business leaders to engage directly with Telstra’s national leadership team.
We were honoured to welcome Amanda Hutton, Telstra’s Group Executive for Telstra Business, who reports directly to Telstra’s CEO. Amanda was joined by Michael Marom, General Manager, and Josh Fullwood, Regional Engagement Manager, from the Northern NSW Regional Team.
Amanda shared Telstra’s 2030 Strategy, outlining the company’s vision for empowering Australian businesses through connectivity, innovation, and digital transformation. With more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, Amanda’s insights provided valuable context on how Telstra plans to support businesses, particularly in regional areas like ours, as they navigate a rapidly changing digital landscape.
Meaningful Conversations and Collaboration
Following Amanda’s presentation, Michael and Josh facilitated an open discussion, giving attendees the chance to raise local challenges, share opportunities, and provide direct feedback on the needs of our region.
This conversation was a highlight of the afternoon, creating a two-way dialogue where business leaders could have their voices heard and influence how Telstra delivers services and support to local enterprises in the years ahead.
Shaping the Future Together
Executive Officer Kylie Morris closed the event by thanking Telstra for its leadership and commitment to our community, and all attendees for their insights and honest conversations.
“Your contributions today are exactly what this forum is about - creating a space where influential business leaders can share knowledge, collaborate, and help shape the future of our business community,” Kylie said.
The launch of the Leaders Round Table marks the beginning of an ongoing initiative to turn ideas into action, strengthen relationships between business leaders, and drive innovation and growth across the Greater Port Macquarie region.
We look forward to hosting our next Leaders Round Table and continuing this important journey together.
