Fresh energy, fresh ideas: new Board kicks off an exciting term

November 6, 2026

There was a real buzz around the table this week as the new Business Port Macquarie Board came together for the first time to kick off its term.
‍
Fresh off the 2026 AGM, the Board sat down to talk about what members have been telling us, where we can make the biggest difference, and how we can keep backing local business across Port Macquarie-Hastings.
‍
The new Board brings together a mix of returning and new faces. Every one of them is a local business owner volunteering their time for our business community. Between them they bring experience across various industry sectors, and a shared belief that local business does better when we work together.
‍
What's on the agenda
‍
The Board's focus is:

• Members first. Listening to what members need and making sure every membership delivers real value.
• Fresh ideas. Trying new ways to connect, learn and grow, alongside favourites like Coffee Connections and BA5.
• Advocacy. Building on the Wrights Road campaign, where 10,000 signatures in 10 days helped secure the Oxley Highway upgrade, to keep local business at the table with Council and government.
• Celebrating local business. Building on the success of the 2026 Coastline Bank Greater Port Macquarie Business Awards.
‍
We want to hear from you
‍
The Board's work starts with our members. If there's an issue affecting your business, an idea for an event, or something you'd love to see BPM tackle, we'd love to hear it. Email executive@businesspmq.com.au or chat to us at the next Coffee Connections.
‍
Here's to a big year for local business!
