On 22 August, Business Port Macquarie joined forces with Local Member Robert Dwyer MP to launch the Oxley Highway Petition, aiming to gather 10,000 physical signatures so the issue can finally be debated in NSW Parliament.
Why? Because congestion on the Oxley Highway between Wrights Road and Lake Road has become intolerable. More than 20,000 vehicles travel this short stretch daily, costing our community time, money, and productivity. For years we’ve heard promises - now it’s time for real action.
Our petition calls on the NSW Government to:
> Immediately commence planning and design works
> Develop a business case for the upgrade
> Classify the project as State Significant, ensuring access to future State and Federal funding
Every signature sends a clear message:
Enough is enough - our community deserves a safe, efficient highway that supports residents, businesses and visitors alike.
