I was fortunate to meet recently with a representative from the Ocean Pool Committee. It was great to be able to ask many questions and to be able to see the concept plans. What a great facility this will be for the community. Being free it will be great for the whole community from families young & old, schools, business and a great tourism attraction that the whole area will benefit from. I look forward to seeing this project come up out of the water.
The 1st of November sees our annual golf day that we run to raise funds for Westpac Helicopter Service. This is a fantastic organisation that helps many in our community. You never want to have to use it but it is comforting to know that it is there if we need it. It costs a lot of money to keep this service in the air, most of which comes from public donations so please get your teams together and join us for this fun packed day. Congratulations to the team from Thrumster Business Park on registration of the first stage. This will be a fantastic business hub for the area and we look forward to watching the estate grow with current and new businesses coming to town.
Also a big congratulations to Christie & Peter Cristoforo from X Golf. I recently attended their opening night and was amazed at what a fabulous facility this is! Boasting 6 interactive screens with many differing programs to suit your golf level. (mine was not great but fortunately I didn’t injure anyone!) so much fun. I was very impressed by the big hitters that played off for longest shot. Great spot for golf enthusiasts,those that want to have a bit of fun, those improving their swing or families as there is also a kid’s course. Great spot to practice for our upcoming Westpac Rescue Helicopter Golf Day. With catering and bar onsite also a great spot for team building and Christmas parties. Make sure you check it out soon.
17th October, at CSU we are hosting a Cyber Security Network breakfast. Is your cyber security up to date? Do you know the consequences of a cyber breach? Make sure you are covered as being hacked and losing your identity can cause many long-term problems. This is one event you can’t afford to miss. Following this event, at 9.15am we will be holding our annual AGM for those that would like to stay on or would like to join us. Have you ever considered joining the board of Business Port Macquarie?
